Everett Stage serves as a community theater delivering affordable programming to Providence’s low-income communities. The space also serves as a laboratory and testing ground for Everett’s company and school, a site where ideas are explored, consents are tested and discoveries are made. In a former carriage house in the Mount Hope Neighborhood, Everett’s stage provides an intimate and inviting space for the greater Providence community to come together to tell and hear stories, learn from each other and celebrate together. Everett stage activities include company performances, improv comedy nights, open mic events, class recitals and forums on a variety of important topics.
Activities include regular events such as Friday Night Live, a weekly comedy improv series, and Open Stage, a monthly forum for a broad variety of local performing artists, as well as an evolving roster of special events and programs. Everett’s Stage frequently hosts work from partners and collaborators including resident companies Case Closed!, a hip-hop dance theater company, and Napua ‘O’Polynesia, a Polynesian dance group. Everett’s Stage also serves as a resource for our partner artists and organizations, as well as others in the Providence community seeking an intimate space for artists and audiences to gather.
