Open stage is everett’s monthly open mic night. The aim of open stage is to give local youth performers a forum to show their talents in front of a live audience. Each show will feature a different headliner. Audience members will have the opportunity to sign up for a 3-minute performance slot before the show. Open Stage occurs on the first Friday of each month. Entrance fee is $5 however no one is turned away for lack of funds!
The Headliner for Open Stage this month will be Providence's one and only Daddy Long Leggs and his Breakin' Dance Class! Daddy Long Leggs is a main member of an elite breakin' crew from Providence know as "THE 401 ROCKERZ" and has been breakin for more than 24 years. Daddy Long Leggs has been to over 20 states and countries with his dancing, teaching and DJing. Now working with his own business, Leggwork Productions, Leggs is always keeping it rockin'! You will love his moves, music and special guest students so don't miss out on this Open Stage performance!
The Headliner for November Open Stage will be Native American artists Shaila Leigh & Juan Hazard, starring Cree & Aria. This group will bring dance and music in a beautiful performance from their Native American heritage. Come catch their breathtaking performance on Friday November 1st, 2024!
The host for Open Stage this year will be the one and only Intuitive LogiQ!! Intuitive LogiQ (LogiQ), is a 28 year old woman of Haitian descent who curates and hosts events, amongst a plethora of other skills in the entertainment and professional work field. This has been her career for the past 10 years, but also a dream/aspiration since birth. LogiQ has hosted events in RI, NY, MA, NJ and growing… performance appearances by Lola Brooke, YNJay, Serani +More! She’s also hosted alongside celebrity DJs, such as DJ Chubby Chub, DJ Selecta Bam Bam, DJ Buck, DJ Moe Dee, DJ Craig G +More. “I was LITERALLY born for this" ... LogiQ

October’s headlining act is the beautiful singer, song writer, dancer, all around entertainer, Richie Smile! Richie Smile is an internationally recognized afro-pop artist originally from Nigeria and now based in Rhode Island. Richie Smile is known for his smile and his passion for music. You will be blown away by his incredible voice and moved to dance by his rhythmic beats. Don’t miss his headline performance at Open Stage on Friday October 4th!!
The HOST for this months Open Stage will be Everett's own Justine Jungels!! Justine is an Everett artist through and through! She grew up as a student at Everett School and went on to be a teacher, company member and administrative member. Justine is now a licensed social worker doing incredible work with young people at Hope High School but can still be found at Everett teaching improv theater classes! This super cool host will have everybody feeling good at the next Open Stage so don't miss out!!
Everett's HEADLINER for this Open Stage is AMARE! Amare is a young visionary, a LEGEND IN THE MAKING who's dancing, singing and overall performing is out of this world. Not only does Amare create original choreography but is also a talented song writer. Amare has so much talent to give and will be bringing it ALL to Open Stage this May. This performance will be extra special for all of us here at Everett as Amare used to be a student at Everett School. We are so excited to have Amare coming home!!!

Rudy Ru, a local artist and faaaavorite Open Stage performer from back in the day, has brought his breath taking spoken word to Everett's stage before but this month he returns as HEADLINER!! Fresh off a run of the play, La Broa, at Providence's Trinity Rep Theater, Rudy is ready to return to Everett and THROW DOWN in the poetry arena! Rudy Cabrera aka Rudacious is an Actor/Poet/Storyteller from Providence, RI. Rudy started Acting at 17 and has done an array of stage productions from various Shakespeare shows to more modern contemporary theater productions, even doing bilingual Spanish speaking roles and on camera has played Dimitrius in the Boston Based web series “The Pineapple Diaries” and more recently he played Jason Myers in the 18x award winning Hip Hop horror short film "Deep Redd!" As a poet Rudy has performed nationally in poetry slams representing the Lizard Lounge team in Cambridge, MA and in 2013 his team made the top 8 in the country. Also Rudy has graced the stages of countless schools, fundraisers, conferences and even random hole in the wall dive bars. “I’m just a lover of language. I seek both the witty ness of language to entertain & then the purpose of language to create the emotion or message I want the audience to have! It’s really about connecting words with people for me!”

This month we welcome back one of Open Stage's first hosts and original creators, Bianca Bevilacqua!! We are so excited to have Bianca's hilarious commentary and fun dance moves graceing our stage again. Bianca has been an Everett artists since she was a teenager; producing films, performing improv comedy with Everett's Friday Night Live and teaching next generations of young people. She went on to graduate from film school where her film, Got You, won the Dr. Maricia Robbins-Wilf '71 Women in Film Production Award at the LA Emerson College Film Festival. Bianca is now a public school teacher and principal in training at Hope High School. So join Bianca after the school bell rings Friday March 1st at Everett Stage!
Everett is very excited to announce our headliner for this month's Open Stage to be Indira, a soulful songstress that creates music across a spectrum of influences. Indira is a first generation dominicana and a Rhode Island based artist. She takes inspiration from her melodic roots as well as her American upbringing to create her music. You don't want to miss out on your chance to experience Indira's breathtaking voice and soothing ukulele at this upcoming Open Stage! Indira has appeared on WPRI 12 Fox Providence, 94.9 La Mega and 101.51 WBRU and has performed live at PVDFest along many other venues.
